The Appalachian Shakespeare Center Touring Show Application

Appalachian Shakespeare Center at EKU Presents

      Bard's Friends Forever

An original script, written and performed by the Appalachian Shakespeare Center team, our touring production is a two-person performance featuring some of Shakespeare's most interesting friendships. Our show explores social and emotional learning through friendship while giving students a taste of Shakespearean text, characters, and storytelling. All with a special appearance from the world's greatest writer himself, William Shakespeare!

Follow Paige, Jonathan, and Willy Shakespeare on a journey to explore different friendship dynamics written into Shakespeare’s plays. As our hosts present these ideas, they start to draw similarities between Shakespeare’s work and their own lives. Audiences will get to see fun presentations, professional Shakespearean acting, puppetry, quick costume changes, and realism between friends.

Actors will arrive 30 minutes prior to performing for setup and will be equipped with 5 suitcases, 1 trunk, and one 2D curtain. The show runs approximately 45 minutes and can be performed anywhere; from a classroom to the auditorium, the cafeteria, a gym, the library, outdoors, you name it!
